Bob Books Review and Giveaway!

Sophia LOVES to read books!  Honestly, throughout the course of a day, she will pull out every single one of her books (if I let her) and read them all (some over and over and over again)!!  Since she was 18 months old, she has had a fascination with numbers.  Within two weeks, she recognized all numbers 1-10!  Since we have the numbers down pat, I have been working with her on letters!  For some reason, she loves the letters, A, B, C, M, and Z!

Bob's Books sent me both of these boxes!
Once we received Bob Books Alphabet packet in the mail, we started practicing with her letters! (I personally checked out the Pre-Reading Skills book and those are a great set of books for me to read to Sophia to get her prepared to read!!  They are awesome!)

In regards to the alphabet set, one book contains two letters, as seen in the pictures below!  It shows the child the upper case and lower case letter with a corresponding word!  They use many of the common words we would associate the letters with.  The pictures are fun to look at!

Each letter has it's own page for Upper and Lower Case
I loved how basic the artwork was in the following pages.  It was enough to catch her eye, but not too much to overwhelm her!  They usually are silly pictures with makes for great toddler reading!  Isn't it so rewarding to have fun with your children reading??

The following page has beginning reading sentences or phrases!
You can see all the different letter books on the floor ... she loved how colorful they were!

Her first look at the Alphabet set of books ... hum ....
Still one of her favorite books ... A and B!  The sense of accomplishment on her face when I praise her for recognizing the letters ... now that is PRICELESS!

She is reading to me ... Apple and Alligator
Isn't it amazing how much fun new books can be for these little girls and guys?  I know your little girl or guy will LOVE these!!  They are really fun for all ages!!
See mama, a cow!!
Here is some great info from their website about all their stages of books! (I can't wait to order more when she is actively reading!)

How do Bob Books work?

The Bob Books Foundation Sets are for children who are ready to take the first steps into reading (seeIs My Child Ready for Reading? and How to Use Bob Books for more information).
Bob Books Set 1 • Beginning Readers. is very simple. With only four letters in the first book, your child can sound out all the words, and read the whole book. Children are so excited with their success, they want to try more. With each book read, their confidence and desire to learn grows.
Bob Books Set 2, Set 3, Set 4 and Set 5 build on each other, with enough repetition so reading becomes comfortable and easy, and new material so the child stays interested. Numbering the books and boxes creates a sense of progress and accomplishment. The books themselves are sized perfectly for little hands. Children love the hilarious (and sometimes mischievous) stories and pictures.
If your youngster is not ready for reading, My First Bob Books build pre-reading skills. My First Bob Books • Alphabet builds something called phonemic awareness - the ability to hear and separate sounds - and tunes your child's ear to the sounds letters make. My First Bob Books • Pre-Reading Skills introduces shapes and patterns to build awareness of letter groups. This foundation sets the stage for the magical moment when reading begins.
The good news is that you don't have to know reading theory to use Bob Books. As you read the stories and talk about the books, your child is learning. So be silly, play with sounds and make it a game. You're having fun while teaching your child important reading and literacy skills that will last a lifetime. It's one of the best gifts you can give a child.
