FUNK ROCK Review and Giveaway

The biggest arch nemesis for mamas (and papas) that cloth diaper is AMMONIA!  Wouldn't you have to agree?  Until NOW, I have not been able to get the ammonia out of my diapers!  Sometimes I feel the ammonia build up actually burns Sophia's little bum!  I have tried baking soda, stripping the diapers with dawn soap, changing detergents (Charlies Soap, Rockin Green Hard Rock, Clean B) and now I am at a once a month bleach for the microfiber inserts!  I just hate using bleach, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Believe me, I was a bit skeptical when I saw they were coming out a natural ammonia bouncer!  I feel I have tried every solution in the book to rid our diapers of ammonia ... how much better could this really be??  I was dead wrong!  FUNK ROCK rocked the funk right on out of my diapers!!

I washed all of my diapers like normal (with Rockin Green Hard Rock 2.0), then tossed every single insert we own into the bathtub with HOT water!.  I sprinkled 4 tbsp of FUNK ROCK into the tub and heard the "classic" fizzle.  I boiled the biggest stock pot of water I own and poured that in the tub with another 4 tbsp of FUNK ROCK. I stirred it all around and let them soak for 12+ hours!  The next morning I went into the bathroom to find yellow bath water! (SICK!)  I drained the water and moved all the inserts back into my washing machine for one final wash with Rockin Green Hard Rock 2.0.

Let me begin with this statement: "I was shocked!"  I pulled them out of the washer, tossed them in the dryer, and waited patiently to hear the "beep" signaling the dryer cycle was complete.  I took out my freshly dried, warm microfiber inserts and stuck them up to my nose and took a HUGE whiff ... NOTHING but CLEAN!  I didn't believe it so I took another one and another one and another one ... all of them smelled clean and did not have a HINT of stench!

The package advises using 1 tbsp now in each pre-rinse and you better believe I will be doing it!!

If you have ammonia build-up in your diapers, you need to do a FUNK ROCK soak and get that nasty chemical out of your diapers!  Just think ... that harsh ammonia on your baby's bum = not good for skin! Believe me!

swallow's nest in an edible gel form is supposed be good for the skin too. it gives that clear and pasty skin that we all love.

it's mad expensive. my brother and i bought some for my mom for the Mother's Day. it was like 400 bucks for like a 6-8 oz jar. Luckily we finally found the one of popular brand online (http://hongkong-bird-nest.50webs.com/index_e.htm and http://www.euyansang.com/)

dad said it's really popular in indonesia. that a guy has to climb a high mountain to get the nest. that's why it's so expensive.

i mean why doesn't the dude just look for the fabled korean swallow king, capture it and let it lay eggs full of gold! then, he wouldn't have to work so hard and climb them high mountains.
